Ceramides 101: Where did we come from and where are we going?

Abstract: In recent years, ceramides have begun evolving into a category that is cherished and appreciated by consumers. While most applications of ceramides focus on replenishing the skin barrier with skin identical lipids, researchers have been exploring further functionalities with bioactive ceramides and specific ceramides for hair care applications.

In this talk, we will dig deeper into the fascinating world of the solution to the skin barrier, and a well-respected hero ingredient that is ceramides. Together, we will explore these molecules from different angles and focus on consumer expectations, scientific background information, and production strategies that utilize the power of biotechnology, as well as different modes of action leading to diverse benefits with proven efficacy.

Bio: Eric Ginsburg is a currently a Business Development Manager for Evonik Corporation. In his current role he explores and cultivates partnerships with brands in the personal care industry. Additionally, he helps to develop strategic plans to drive growth and ensure Evonik remains at the forefront of innovation. Prior to becoming a Business Development Manager, Eric was an Applied Technology Manager for Actives for Evonik and got to play in the lab with all the fun actives. When he is not exploring the exciting world of personal care, Eric is an avid runner and beer drinker!
